ALLAN WAINAINA
Chief Finance Officer, Telkom Kenya
With a career spanning over 30 years, Allan has acquired experience across a wide range of cross-functional experiences at senior leadership levels in Kenya and internationally in finance, corporate governance, Strategy & corporate planning & General management . He began his career as an external auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (one of the two predecessor firms of PwC) in Birmingham in the UK. After 8 years in the audit profession, he moved to the East Africa Area office of British American Tobacco (BAT), where he became the first non-expatriate Area Head of Internal Audit. Allan spent 19 years with the BAT Group and he served in a number of diverse markets including Kenya and the wider East African region, the UK, Zambia and DRC. His tenure at BAT included roles in internal audit, mainstream and commercial finance, corporate strategy and planning and general management. Allan joined the Nairobi Java House Group in 2019 as Chief Finance Officer. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of strategies which enabled Java to successfully navigate the severe adverse impacts which the Covid pandemic had on the F&B and hospitality sectors. Allan is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Telkom Kenya Limited. Allan has been married to Angela for 24 years and is blessed with two daughters, aged 21 and 19 and is currently serving in the following boards:

ALEX NYAGA
Group Chief Executive Officer, Parapet Group of Companies;
Alex Nyaga stands out as an industry leader, and is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of Parapet Group of Companies; a leading integrated facilities management solutions company in East Africa. For 25 years, Alex has overseen the maximisation of Parapet’s profitability and efficiency, driving brand growth and delivering financial performance. He is a respected industry leader in the hospitality, banking, and real estate sectors and sits on various investment company boards including Rosehill Limited. His passion for community service work has driven him to become a beloved member of Rotary International; one of the largest service organisations in the world. The organisation provides service to others, promoting goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. He has held the office of District Governor 9212, overseeing service projects and providing impeccable leadership to over 4,000 Rotarians in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Eritrea, and is currently Rotary international’s Regional Coordinator on matters of membership, development and retention in the East African region. He is also a major donor to the foundation.
Being a board member of the Kenya Youth Business Trust, he has mentored young entrepreneurs, successfully helping them scale up their businesses and achieve financial freedom.
The values-driven leader has had a number of awards bestowed upon him including, The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2014-2015), has been feted for several years (2011-2013) among the Top 40 Under 40 business leaders by by The Business Daily Journal; East Africa’s leading business publication, and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Alex is noted for his philanthropy, even sitting on the board of Angel Centre, a home that provides care for abandoned babies and orphaned children
